If you’ve ever felt dismissed, rushed, or completely lost in a hospital setting, you’re not alone. Most of us will walk into a hospital at some point, yet we’re rarely taught what to expect or how to advocate for ourselves. “Trust the system” has become the default advice. But when the stakes are high, trust without preparation isn’t protection.
SherCompass was created to change that. It’s a response to the confusion, fear, and overwhelm that so many families face during medical emergencies, and a tool to help you take control before you ever need it. With the toolkit and guide by your side, you’re not walking in blind. You’re informed, supported, and never alone.
Hi, I'm Sherri Parmar, Registered Nurse.
I've spent over 10 years at the bedside as a nurse, an advocate, and a witness to the chaos, confusion, and breakdowns that happen in our healthcare system every single day.
Families walk in overwhelmed. Patients are handed paperwork they don't understand. Critical decisions are made without anyone fully explaining the options. And far too often, people leave the hospital with more questions than answers.
SherCompass was born from my refusal to stay silent. I couldn’t keep watching patients and loved ones suffer under a flawed system, and helping only my assigned patients when an entire unit of patients needed the same support was just no longer realistic or enough.
